Why PersonaChoice’s results are trustworthy
PersonaChoice’s decision-making architecture is designed on solid theories from behavioral economics and psychology. It is designed to model aspects of human judgment, including irrational and intuitive factors, and has been benchmarked against selected real-world datasets through extensive experimentation and tuning.
Daniel Kahneman’s dual-process theory (fast intuition and slow thinking)
We independently modeled the “intuition (System 1)” and “logic (System 2)” thinking modes proposed by Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman. Human decision-making consists of two processes: “fast thinking” that judges instantly and intuitively, and “slow thinking” that deliberates logically. Building on this dual structure, PersonaChoice adopts a design philosophy that reproduces “realistic, human-like judgment” — including hesitation and emotion, not just rationality.
Multi-attribute utility theory (MAUT)
Multi-attribute utility theory is the idea of making decisions by integrating multiple evaluation axes such as price, performance, and convenience. Rather than judging options as simply good or bad, PersonaChoice compares and evaluates multiple factors in balance, simulating selection tendencies that are closer to reality.
Prospect theory
People tend to be more strongly influenced by “the risk of loss” than by “the benefit gained.” PersonaChoice accounts for this seemingly irrational trait of human psychology, reproducing decisions that include emotional factors such as anxiety about price and fear of failure. This captures the wavering in choices that logic alone cannot explain.
Big Five (the five major personality traits)
People’s choices are greatly influenced not only by attributes but also by “personality.” Building on a widely used psychological personality-trait model, PersonaChoice reflects differences in values and judgment tendencies, achieving a more realistic decision simulation that accounts for individual differences.
